Yesterday, when we reached the Darjeeling Zoo with 200 kilos of plastic litter and 100 kilos of mixed garbage and put it in the incinerator, it was a moment of satisfaction! In past 4 days, 5 of us worked on the Singalila Ridge trails and picked up as much rubbish as possible!
It has been our continuous effort to act as a responsible trekking outfit and we will continue to do so in the days to come. I will post pictures and a short report here on my blog soon.
I would like to thank our friends for their support and trust:
Sumita Ghatak-Divisional Forest Officer- Wildlife -I
Sabyasachi Talukdar- Uttar Banga Sambad
Satyajit Kar- Ria Mount Support
Suman Guhaneogy- Yak Equipments
Sikhar Lodge- Tumling
Siddhartha Lodge- Tumling
Pandim Lodge- Kalipokhri
hopefully we will be able to come out with a regular cleaning process on the Singalila Ridge soon.
